Scope. This policy explains how Plugged In Recovery ("we," "us," or "our") handles information through SPERA, the alumni community and recovery-outcomes app. It does not replace any HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices from a treatment provider.

Information SPERA handles

How information is used

We use information to operate SPERA; approve and secure accounts; support alumni follow-up by authorized staff at your treatment center; measure recovery outcomes; deliver the community feed and events; and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who may receive information

Check-ins, surveys, and optional location tags are visible to approved alumni-team staff at your treatment center — not to other members. Community posts and RSVPs are visible to members and staff in your center. We may use contracted providers for hosting, email, backup, and security. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect safety or the service.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your own account at /account/delete. Sign-in, sessions, check-ins, surveys, and messages are removed. Community posts you authored may remain visible under the center’s custody for continuity of the feed. Some records may be retained for legal or safety reasons. Pinned administrator accounts cannot be self-deleted.

Security

We use access controls, individual accounts, encrypted connections, and restricted server access. No system is perfectly secure. Report suspected unauthorized access through the contact below. Do not include clinical details in ordinary email.

Children, emergencies, and third-party links

SPERA is for adults in or after treatment and approved staff. It is not for independent use by children. It is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988 or 911. External sites have their own privacy practices.

Changes

We may update this policy as SPERA or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
